Prof Bernard Morrey, Emeritus Consultant at the Mayo Clinic, USA, points out that simulation technology can greatly improve the value of patient encounters. Hence, there is a pressing need to successfully commercialize simulation technology; particularly disruptive technology (i.e., technology which is capable of making the greatest global impact). He identifies practical concerns to note during the commercialization process, such as understanding the strength of the concept, being supported by competent and experienced personnel, having a strong business plan, as well as adequate time and funding.
